Overview

This role involves reviewing real-world CNC job packs submitted by manufacturing companies to ensure they are authentic, technically relevant, and complete for use in an AI evaluation and manufacturing workflow research project. The reviewer assesses documentation such as engineering drawings, G-code, setup sheets, and inspection reports, providing quality assessments and recommendations. It is a part-time, project-based position focused on evaluation rather than design or programming.

What You'll Do7

  • 1Review submitted CNC job packs to confirm authenticity and real-world origin
  • 2Check that files are not publicly available, AI-generated, or artificially created
  • 3Verify that all files in a job pack belong to the same part, job, drawing number, or production workflow
  • 4Evaluate technical completeness of drawings, tolerances, material specs, setup sheets, tool lists, process charts, and inspection documents
  • 5Assess whether G-code, CAM output, or setup instructions are meaningful and connected to the job
  • 6Identify missing or weak artifacts and flag confidential or sensitive information for redaction
  • 7Provide a short quality assessment and recommendation (accept, accept with minor issues, request more info, or reject)

Requirements7

  • 1Direct experience in CNC manufacturing, CNC programming, machining, or manufacturing quality control
  • 2Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T/tolerances
  • 3Familiarity with CNC setup sheets, CAD/CAM workflows, G-code/NC files, tooling lists, and process routing
  • 4Experience with inspection reports, QC checklists, or control plans
  • 5Detail-oriented with ability to identify incomplete, fake, or low-value files
  • 6Clear written feedback skills in English
  • 7Availability for part-time, project-based review work

Who Should Apply

The ideal candidate is an experienced CNC manufacturing professional with hands-on shop-floor experience in CNC milling/turning, reading engineering drawings and GD&T, and working with setup sheets, CAD/CAM, and G-code. They should be comfortable reviewing a wide range of manufacturing documentation and be able to assess its authenticity and completeness. A strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate clear, written evaluations are essential.
